ISO27001 certification reinforces 1inch’s security-first approach
1inch is leading the effort to build safe, compliant DeFi on the road to mass adoption.
1inch has received ISO 27001 certification, a global gold standard in information security, and SOC 2 (Type 1) attestation, a significant security validation.
This is a key milestone on the path to DeFi mass adoption - as we show users, clients and regulators that the sector can offer the same level of security and confidence that they would expect from traditional financial institutions, without giving up the fundamental principles of independence and self-custody. During the certification process, we strengthened every layer of our protection framework and refined internal processes to meet the exacting requirements that the wider financial sector demands. We also partnered with leading Web3 security firm zeroShadow, whose team worked side by side with 1inch to ensure every control met or exceeded international standards.
What does this certification mean?
This certification is about process: it reflects the strength of our ongoing approach to security, which will continue to produce new approaches and tactics to safeguard our users and partners.
We show traditional financial institutions they can rely on us as a compliant, trustworthy partner that takes protection seriously.
In practice, it validates our processes for threat intelligence, data protection and secure data deletion.
By earning ISO 27001, 1inch joins a select group of industry leaders - including Binance, Coinbase, Trust Wallet and Chainlink Labs - recognized for meeting the highest security standards.
As 1inch expands collaboration with traditional finance, ISO 27001 becomes essential. It aligns our internal policies with institutional requirements - helping new partnerships move faster and with greater confidence.
What’s next?
Soon, this level of security and compliance will be standard practice - you won’t be competitive without it. Right now, it’s a testament to leadership: 1inch is spearheading the effort to build safe and compliant DeFi on the road to mass adoption.
Our goal is to make institutional-grade security the norm in Web3 - not an exception. That means expanding our compliance framework, strengthening partnerships with regulators and security auditors and continuing to integrate best practices from traditional finance. As DeFi matures, 1inch will keep redefining the boundaries of what secure, transparent and user-first infrastructure should look like.
