1inch beefs up its token warning system
1inch is making its token warning system more interactive in a bid to further improve 1inch dApp users’ swap experience.
1inch has improved its token warning system powered by 1inch Shield and based on information provided by Web3 Antivirus. The system is designed to take the protection of users’ assets to the next level.
Providing access to the widest possible range of crypto assets has always been a priority for 1inch. However, among the thousands of actively traded tokens, some may pose security risks that could lead to losing users’ funds or compromise the integrity of 1inch.
With the improved token warning system, users will benefit from an added layer of protection. Tokens identified as risky will be flagged with clear security markers and detailed warnings to help users avoid unsafe interactions.
Depending on the severity of the risk, tokens will either trigger a warning or be completely restricted from interaction - helping users make safer, more informed decisions in real time. 1inch’s token warning system is based on information provided by Web3 Antivirus.
1inch introduces the following risk categories for tokens, which are used to either warn users about potential risks or block them from executing swaps or other transactions.
- Sanctioned token
A token is associated with sanctions or other regulatory restrictions. The user is blocked from any action with this token. They receive a corresponding warning.
- Restricted token
A token is restricted and cannot be swapped in the 1inch dApp. The user is blocked from swaps involving this token. They receive a corresponding warning.
- Malicious token
A token has been flagged as malicious by the 1inch Shield. The user receives a warning strongly discouraging them from transacting with the token. Still, the technical ability to transact with the token remains available, and the user may proceed at their own risk.
- Suspicious token
A token has been flagged by the 1inch Shield due to its malintent or association with spam activities. The user receives a corresponding warning but may proceed to transact with it at their own risk.
- Availability-risk token
A token is not available on reputable centralized exchanges and platforms. The user receives a corresponding warning but may proceed to transact with it at their own risk.
- Unverified token
A token has not been identified as verified or high-reputation by the 1inch Shield. The user receives a corresponding warning but may proceed to transact with it at their own risk.
1inch’s token warning system aims to make users’ journey on 1inch even safer and more secure.
