1inch in August: Solana swaps, hackathon winners and Wallet Connect campaign
In August, 1inch saw some interesting news and developments - catch up with our quick digest.
Updates, news and integrations
August’s main release was the launch of trustless cross-chain swaps between Solana and 12+ EVM blockchains.
For the first time, users got a chance to make direct token swaps between Solana and EVM networks - without having to use bridges or messaging protocols. That signified a huge improvement in security: unlike older solutions, 1inch cross-chain swaps are fully self-custodial, MEV-protected and much safer for large values.
Users of the Solana swap functionality in the 1inch dApp or 1inch Wallet now enjoy bulletproof security, seamless execution and the best rates for token swaps between Solana and other chains.
Meanwhile, builders did not miss out, either, as they can connect Solana and EVM chains within their projects, with cross-chain swaps supported on Solana via the 1inch Swap API and SDK.
Also in August, 1inch announced the winners of Unite DeFi, a global online hackathon held online in collaboration with ETHGlobal on July 25 - August 6. The competition featured bounties up to $525,000, attracting significant participation across the hackathon’s three tracks, with a total of 403 submissions. For a full list of winners, check out this blog post.
In other news, 1inch joined the Beacon Network, a real-time crypto crime response system that helps stop illicit funds and protect users, and welcomed GPEG Trading as a resolver, while our joint campaign with Wallet Connect came to a conclusion.
Stay tuned for more news from 1inch!
